Among the novelties, the two sets of sushi chopsticks Anna Stick and Alessandro Stick by Alessandro Mendini and La cupola espresso coffee maker by Aldo Rossi now presented for use with induction hobs.
Archivio Collection / Arran tray, design Enzo Mari & Maya basket, design Giulio Confalonieri
Born in 1998 and with over a thousand authors represented in its collection, the Alessi Museum presents a very rich archive from which to draw, re-interpret and make contemporary ideas and projects from the past. Archivio collection aims to give life to projects preserved in the company museum and now presents the re-editions of the Arran tray by Enzo Mari and the Maya basket by Giulio Confalonieri.
Designed in 1961 by Enzo Mari and reissued in 1997, the Arran tray is among the best projects designed for Alessi and created in that historical period, to which is added the Maya basket, designed by Giulio Confalonieri in 1977, characterized by clean and essential lines: a true graphic project made possible thanks to the cold printing of the steel plate. The two objects from Archivio collection are available in the original version, in polished stainless steel and in two new iridescent finishes in shades of green and purple, the result of sophisticated chromatic research: their colors change depending on the reflections and shades of light that surrounds them, giving them an extraordinary expressive force. Yucatan and Oaxaca, design Michele De Lucchi – salt and pepper grinders
“I reduced my project to the essentials of a column with a rotating head and then preferred to have fun at the lathe. Small patterns formed that made me think of Aztec poles. This is how Yucatan and Oaxaca were born, two small wooden totems that find their place in the kitchen” This is how Michele De Lucchi presents the two Yucatan and Oaxaca salt, pepper and spice grinders.
Made of beech wood and small in size to create harmony with the other elements of the table, the objects have a fine natural oil finish which allows them to be pleasant to the touch and pay homage to the artisanal quality of the craftsmanship. Available in store and online: April
Plissé, design Michele De Lucchi: electric kettle with temperature control
The Plissé series designed by Michele De Lucchi expands with a new version of the kettle with temperature control: a perfect solution for tea lovers, which allows you to control the temperature of the water and make it perfect for every use.
Plissé, design Michele De Lucchi: electric kettle and toaster, new colour
A particular shade of blue, desaturated and contemporary, is added to the colour variants of the electric kettle and the Plissé toaster by Michele De Lucchi present in the catalogue. Available in store and online: April
Anna Stick and Alessandro Stick, design Alessandro Mendini: set of two chopsticks and stand
Preserved in the archives of the Atelier Mendini and never created before, the project of the Anna Stick and Alessandro Stick wands materializes in an elegant version made of ebony and embellished with a steel micro-casting, which reproduces the faces of the two iconic characters. The sets are completed with a fish-shaped stand, also made of steel micro-casting, a classic stylistic feature of the author, taken from his well-known « Mendinigraph« . Anna Stick and Alessandro Stick express Alessandro Mendini’s desire to «create families of objects that are poetic and sympathetic, refined and allegorical, but also simple, solid and user-friendly». La cupola, design Aldo Rossi: espresso coffee maker, new version for induction hobs
The coffee maker designed in 1988 by Aldo Rossi, author of some of the most representative objects of the 1980s, is a miniature architecture and is now presented in the new version for induction hobs. Available in the 6 cups format and with the handle and knob in two colour variants: black or the iconic blue proposed by the architect for the original version. An icon of contemporary industrial design, La cupola celebrates the ritual of coffee, capable of recreating an urban landscape within a domestic environment, as declared by its creator when it was presented for the first time: «For me, the coffee maker is a type of construction: it is a dome supported by a cylinder with certain mouldings, more or less functional and decorative, but it is a precise architecture« .
