Revol unveils a unique and patented customisation technique
Thanks to its long-standing expertise in decoration, previously exclusive to luxury brands, professionals in the restaurant and international hotel industries can now access over 400 customisable items from Revol’s collection. In addition to the well-established chromography technique, which involves baking a design onto the rim of a plate or mug, the French manufacturer patented a new technique in 2024 for decorating ceramics through laser ablation. This groundbreaking innovation produces a rich visual effect, ensuring that the markings are completely indelible.

This unique technique at the Revol factory reveals the contrast between the gloss of the glaze and the texture of the ceramic paste. It enhances the brand’s collections—authentic and inspiring—by promoting the identity of an establishment through this innovative method. Laser ablation decoration is possible on Revol’s ceramic paste thanks to its excellent technical properties. This customisation is achieved throughout the material. However, due to the complete absence of porosity in Revol’s ceramics—whether raw or glazed—no ingredients can penetrate the material, ensuring consistent hygiene across all collections. Surface engraving does not compromise the piece’s integrity; the precision of the laser settings, combined with the hardness of the ceramic, allows for treatment without negatively impacting the product’s durability. The customisation is permanent—no more issues with patterns fading on your plates over time, as the laser engraving withstands intensive dishwashing cycles and does not degrade with age.
This customisation technique offers a wide range of entirely new visual effects, thanks to the depth of Revol’s offerings, its many finishes, colours, and developed ceramic pastes. This service is available to all professionals, with a minimum order of 144 pieces at €5 per piece.
