Born in Eastern Europe at the end of 1977, Skaza embraced eco-design to cope with the harshness of that era. Its founders had no idea that their « low-cost » manufacturing process would eventually turn into a golden opportunity, at a time when the planet is exhausted. Their eco-designed products, featuring excellent design and offered at unbeatable prices, are now experiencing global success.

It was in a garage that Franc and Martina Skaza founded their company to offer Yugoslavians products made from recycled old household appliances, at a time when sourcing materials was particularly difficult. With this mindset, they relied on new technologies to develop their design approach, which was awarded the Golden Gazelle Award in 2014. Today, Skaza has established itself on the global stage as a major player in the circular economy and distributes its products in nearly 60 countries worldwide. It appeals with its home and garden products made from bio-sourced and recycled materials. It was one of the very first companies to offer composting solutions on the French market. « Our strategy is to make sustainable products accessible to everyone to give a universal dimension to the fight against waste, » explains Niko Medved, Deputy Director of Skaza. « Each new million in revenue generated by the brand results in an economy of 190 tons of CO2, which has enormous priceless value for us. Our goal is to create a wide portfolio of private labels, which will allow us to focus our revenue generation on sustainable products.«

The growing production of plastic products has long surpassed the world’s ability to manage the consequences. According to National Geographic, half of all the plastic on Earth was produced in the last 20 years, increasing from 2.3 million tons in 1950 to an incredible 448 million tons in 2015… and it is expected to double by 2050! Hence, the importance of seeing companies like Skaza take action to continue fighting against the use of single-use plastic products. Its « Viva » dinnerware collection, made from bio-sourced materials derived from sugarcane, adds an elegant touch to everyday tables as well as outdoor meals. Those looking for an extra touch of elegance will turn to the eco-designed « Contessa » collection, which includes remarkable pieces such as large mugs, bowls, and sturdy serving dishes with refined design. It is perfect for seasonal events where one wants to add an ethical and sophisticated note. For outdoor enthusiasts who want to combine style and sustainability, Skaza offers the « Pick&Go » collection. It includes practical picnic sets and lightweight, durable containers designed for versatile, on-the-go use.

« Nothing is lost, nothing is created, everything is transformed » (Antoine de Lavoisier)– Skaza also offers hiking tiles, perfect for terraces, courtyards, playgrounds, and parking lots, made from 100% recycled milling waste from its production. These 100% recycled tiles, produced using an innovative process, represent a development lever aiming for worldwide distribution. Again, this is a sustainable product with unbeatable value for money, as emphasized by Niko Medved. Designed with modularity in mind, they allow easy size adjustments and simple, quick installation. Their textured surface provides slip-resistant properties, preventing slips in wet or icy conditions, ensuring safety in all weather conditions. Additionally, the tiles are weather-resistant and can support the weight of a car, making them ideal for driveways, camping, playgrounds, and poolside areas. Lightweight yet sturdy, these tiles offer a stable and secure foundation, and are easy to transport and assemble. A set of eight tiles covers 0.5 m², making it an excellent choice for those seeking both functionality and durability in a single product.
